Chapter 15

In this chapter we are introduced to Christianity and the reasons why chrisitianty broke off from the catholic church and started to split into different forms of christianity known as the protestant reformation. Catholicism was very popular in Western Europe for many years but through out those years we begin to see corruption within that. We are also introduced to the Eastern Orthodox Church which was the church in Eastern Europe and Russia. The protestant reformation starts in 1517 because of this corruption and it is started by Martin Luther who writes the 95 theses and pins them to the church wall. This was the first time that the church has ever been challenged by anyone and people began to listen because Martin Luther called out the church for there wrong doings and wanted them to change. The ideas of the protestant reformation were able to spread through out Europe due to the invention of the printing press which allowed the spread of newspaper to be faster. The spread of christianity was seen throughout the world due to colonizations of other continents by the europeans. The protestant vs. christianity fight happened for over 30 years but it finally comes to an end thanks to an act written by king Henry.
